The only modifications i would ever do would be wheels/tires/ exhaust/intake and a chip or something to boost the hp a bit and give me better gas mileage.

so if i had a choice of getting an 05 or 06 what would you guys go with? if the pricing was a few k higher for the 06 but milage was about the same./

 

I would always opt for the newer model, although both will make you very happy!
