As far as the frame hangs down I wouldn't go too low it will drag on everything. You could probably get some 2wd spindles, remove the cv's and leave all the 4wd stuff in there with the wires hooked up. Then you could easly put it back to 4wd later if you want.

Here is an old picture of the 3/5 drop on my 1500HD. It will give you an idea of what it will look like on yours. Just click on it for a larger view.

It is a major effort to go lower than this at the rear axle as well as the front spindles and axles. I can sit on the edge of my seat with the door open and my feet on the ground.
