i have a buddy and he is looing at buying a duramax and is looking at an 04 with the LB7 engine. what do you guys think i know about the injector problems and i know the warranty on these trucks are running out. any body out there have any opinions on these engines after the warranty is done as far as the injectors? what are you guys seeing after these are out of warranty, the injectors are $$$$ and dont want to get a truck that is going to be problems that cost alot.

some trucks have gone 200k miles on stock injectors.

 

i have an 03 LB7 and around 123 miles on her never had a problem all i do is mix a little pump and injector lube in the tank ever other tank

 

i think the lb7 is the best duramax motor. other than injector problems, they were bullet proof and got good milage. my dad has one with 180,000 mostly pulling 8,000+ lbs. it still runs like a top and uses no oil, makes no noise and the ally doesnt slip abit. non of that vgt **** either. plus they sound the best with 5" exhaust. if you have some mechanical know-how you can get rebuilt injectors and all parts to do the job for about $1100.
