Default MPG with a Duramax

Can you guys tell me roughly what you get towing something like a 28 ft enclosed trailer, loaded at 8000-10000 lbs?

What year/engine do you have? That seems really good for towing 10K lbs. That's about what I averaged just driving emtpy everyday.

pulling a enclosed trailer and a boat is different IMO, the boat doesnt have as much wind drag as a enclosed trailer.... i will be pulling my 32ft travel trailer this weekend, ill let you know what kind of mileage i get, but from what i read or other forums its about 12-16mpg is average towing..... i get around 17-18 back and forth to work...

Thanks, interesting posts guys, I was told by a friend at work with a 6.7 Cummins Dodge Ram he gets around 17 empty and not much different with his 5th wheel camper ~ 9000 #. This is not the first time I heard this about diesels.
My 6.0 L can get 13-15 depending unloaded and cross country we just got 8.9 mpg last month.

last year on my 2500HD 6.0, i would average 7-8mpg pulling the trailer..... and it pulled it no problem on straight highway, but when it got just a little hilly I could definately feel the big load back there..... so i figured it was the opportunity to convince the wife we needed a diesel! lol... i will be pulling it this afternoon on the highway, but i brought it home from the storage the other day and it is a day and night difference compared the 6.0, it pulls it with no hesitation at all...
