Putting a Dmax in a 1500 doesnt mean you should go pulling a 5th wheel, maybe a light 5th wheel. A 2500hd or similar may have the dmax but it also has a stronger frame, bigger brakes, more wieght to stop the wieght its pulling etc. Now for a unique performance approach I think it a bad *** idea, hell I would love to do it myself. A SCSB with a Built up Dmax would be awesome to drive.

I understand about the 5th wheel weight but you can allways compensate for stoping power by big brake or bakes on the 5th wheel itself. What I want is power to pull it and get decent gas milage while doing it not to mention going to work and around town. So can someone shed some light on the deference in LLY, LBZ, and LB7?

Why not just get a 3/4 or 1 ton?

Mainly my point was regardless of how good the brakes are a heavy load will throw around a light truck all day long, forget it on a very windy day...

My truck is the way I like it except the power to tow, not to mention sport side.
