I've seen one of those trucks before, it was a 2wd work truck with a metal cargo bed thingy on it. Used for storage for tools or whatever the business was. 5.3 with 8 lug axles and bare bones as they come.

Didnt think they would have ever put a 4l60 in anything bigger than a 1500, i have seen a few 99-02 non hd 2500s, but iirc all of them were 6.0s with 4l80, also saw a non hd 2500 one time with 6 lug axles, had 6.0/4l80 and hd springs, thought it defeated the purpose of having a 2500....

I have a 2008 new body crew cab long bed 4x4 2500HD LMM and I get 20+ routinely hauling *** everywhere on the highways of Texas.

I actually made a chart and its dead on for my truck.

23mpg @ 70mph
20mpg @ 75mph
18mpg @ 80mph
18mpg @ 85mph
14mpg @ 95-100mph

Thats a DSP5, DPF delete w/ 4" exhaust with muffler, 35" tires, stock 3.73 gears, FASS pump, pacific trans cooler.

So, basic mods.
