YEAH IF AN DIESEL ENGINE REVS TOO HIGH IT WILL ACTUALLY START TO RUN ITSELF AND WILL REV UNTIL ITS DESTRYED, OR YOU PU SOMETHING OVER THE INTAKE TRACT TO SMOTHER IT, BUT MOST LIKELY IT WILL KILL ITSELF BEFORE YOU EVER HAVE A CHANCE... TRUCKERS CALL IT... LIGHTING ITS OWN FIRE..... NOT GOOD.... NEVER ACTUALLY SEEN IT... BUT HAVE HEARD STORIES... DOESNT SOUND FUN TO BE THE DRIVER

I can tell you first hand... NOT FUN!!! I had a tractor (Kubota) and a Cummins do it to me... Luckaly I did get them both shut down before any magor damage was done...

The Dyno room a the CAT dealership I worked for had holes in the walls from run away engines......

DAMN I NEED TO PM YOU SOME TIME AND TALK ABOUT SOME OF OUR EXPERIENCES..... I HAVE HAD SIMILAR OCCURANCES ON THE DYNO WHNE I USED TO BUILD BOAT ENGINES

HAD ONE LET GO IN A VERY SPECTACULAR (AND EXPENSIVE) FASHION

Is that considered a better setup as opposed to a bigger turbo and smaller injectors?

NO ITS CALLED AT THE TIME I COULDNT AFFORD THE BIGGER TURBO, BUT JUST COULDNT WAIT TO PUT THE DAMN INJECTORS IN DIDNT HURT ANYTHING BUT DIDNT REALLY DO A WHOLE LOT WHEN THE TURBO WAS RUNNING OUT OF ABILITY.... BUT MY HACK JOB TUNING DIDNT HELP TO BEGIN WITH.... DONT WORRY IM GETTING BETTER

If you could see the other side of the truck, you would see a big cloud of black smoke (my brothers Dmax) Trust me, Diesel guys LOVE to see the black smoke coming out the tailpipe... And Dmax's are cool, because like everyone else has brought out on here, a good tune will help tremendously with hp...With just the Edge With Attitude Tune, you get an extra 100hp and like 150ft/tq i think... But regardless, my brothers truck sitting on 37's runs a 13.7 with just the Edge

I wish i worked for a magazine, though I would be fired for my spelling and gramer.
