Default 8.1 tuners

Who's the best tuner to go through with a 8.1? From what I've researched "Westers" can apparently really do amazing things with the 8.1. Any others out there that are great with this big motor? All input is greatly appreciated!

I asked Justin@Blackbear about tuning my dad's 8.1. He said that they tend to see good gains on them. His biggest concern was if it had started drinking oil yet.

We offer great tunes for the 8.1 models, simple to use, easy to install, and great gains in power and mileage...

Thanks

Everyone says they pick up very well. I think it depends on trans mission. As trucks have Allison and suv have 4l80e. I had good seat of the pants gains with HP tuners

Any of you using efilive? Just curious where the best place to start or if anyone cares to share tune files? Everyone says remove torque management. And whats the deal with pocket programmers not being 8.1 specific? They pretty much work on all GMT800 gasoline trucks. My brother has a hypertech for his 01 5.3 and it says it works on my 8.1 as well. Im gonna plug it in and do a flash and then read it with my efilive just out of curiosity to see what they "change".
