could be a clone, but the VIN would put all this to rest:
- 6th digit = class (1: 1500, 2: 2500, 3: 3500)
- 8th digit = engine (U: 6.0/LQ4, T: 5.3/LM7)
- 10th digit = year (X: 1999, Y: 2000, 1: 2001, 2: 2002)
and i'm pretty sure GT5 uses a 10:40 gearset rather than the 9:37... making them 4.10s

Arbitrarily similar in terms of RPMs and such; quite different in terms of tooth size (durability), noise, commonness, etc.
Can't recall ever seeing 4.09 for anything but a late 60s car 12-bolt though.
