Default 2004 extended cab 2500hd 6.0

Im looking at this 2004 2500. It has 120000 miles on it but in fairly good condition. They have $10,000 on the window. Does that sound about right and is there any known issues with these trucks? It just a 2wd. I just want it to pull my regular cab to the track every now and then. Any help would be appreciated

That sounds right to me for a 2wd if it was an 04 2500 4x4 with those miles itd be more like 16k. At least where i live

You're completely nuts. 16K with 120000 miles on an 8 year old truck...... Pass...... Try under $10K for the 4X4 and maybe $7 or $8K at best for the 2wd. Up here the 2wd would fetch actually quite a bit less than that but a 2wd is not desirable in any way.

Issues...... plenty of them. Leaks, rattles in the brakes, problematic HVAC if it's the manual version, intermediate steering shaft and steering column bearing, check the front end if it's ever been greased. Really the exact same problems your 04 SS would have. I make them sound worse than they are, as I do like the trucks. Just go over it with a fine tooth comb and see if the previous owner or owners ever actually did anything to it other than put gas in it and drive.

My buddy just let his fairly nice 03 2500LD extended cab 4X4 go for $8K with 120000 miles on it. Bose stereo loaded cloth truck. It took him a couple months to get that much for it too....I realize pricing varies but whoever is paying double that really needs to get a reality check. Hell I will start importing them to Indiana if that's the case.

Sounds okay to me but I'm not buying it. Mine('01, 180K)has had 0 issues. Original water pump, brakes, tranny rebuilt before engine build up due to planetary gear issue.
Builder said the waterpumps on the 6.0s usually last to the 220s.

If its an immaculate truck then i say its worth that. But most of the time on used veichals theres little things that nickle and dime you do death. And it all depends on your area and see what their getting. Being up north its maby a 5k pickup but nobody wants them here.

No 8 year old truck with 120000 miles is worth 16K with a gas engine in it..... I won't pay that much for an 06 with half that mileage..... and why would you. A brand new one can be had in the 30's or low 40's, the used ones simply aren't worth that kind of money after that kind of time.

The links you posted are more in the ballpark of reality.

ANYTHING is worth what someone will pay, so if it warrants $16k, and someone is willing to pay for it, given the circumstances, it can bring that. Take for instance that same truck from Texas or Cali (or the like) beings sold and someone from Canada wanting a nice platform, they will gladly play the higher price. I've seen it happen, numerous times on the forums. Just because you would not pay the price doesn't mean jack.

I for one wouldn't pay 10k for one, 7500 would be my cap in my area.
