Hate to get off topic but,...what exactly is a cut out for? I hear about them all the time but dont know the deal on them. Just better exhaust flow and more noise? For use at the track or killing a ricer?

Basically it is generally welded in before the muffler andwhen you open it the exhaust goes out through it instead of going through the muffler. Less restrictionand yes more noise.

here you go
http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm
the black part is what a normal cutout is and the butterfly part is the electric plate that oyu can open and close otherwise you ahve to get under your vehicle to take the plate off to uncap the cutout

The first WOT run in that 408 and you wont remember how much it cost. I'd love to do it. I shot the idea of buying t redaddiction's 427 by my wife, that was a big no-go
Looks as if the DMH cut-outs are pretty solid and two votes against the others.....

What exactly is the problem with the leaking cutouts. Does it make a wierd noise or what? I have dual flowtechs on my exhaust right now and I dont use the gasket and I dont hear/feel anything wierd or annoying.
