Default OK, 551 hp and 647 lbs at 17psi.

Ok, I just got the baseline numbers for my test of the ls1 intake. The numbers here are with the stock intake, on a dynojet. Hp and tq is droping off at 4500rpm. I am running pig rich at 10.0 AFR. (witch means there is more power in the tune, if tuned for 17psi) I just did a run to see how it would do on a dynojet, and to get a baseline for the intake swap. I am still loosing boost, it peaked at 17psi but dropped to 14 during the run. I could not get any dyno time in at synergy to dynotune. It's a two week wait. I will post the dyno sheet as soon as I find my digital camera. Not bad. I will slap on the ls1 intake this week and try to see the difference. I will post both dyno sheets and let you decide if it's worth it. Ok, here is the dyno.

I wouldnt expect the lil 5.3 to last long under those conditions but sounds like it is running like a raped ape at the moment.

Yeah! I think you are right, It's not the best for longevity. But, I think that is the risk you take when you go HIGH PERFORMANCE. I am surprised that the transmission and clutch is holding. Stock t-56 and the OZ 700 clutch. The trans has 80k miles on it, as per what the guy who sold it to me said. Thanks Guys! I cant wait to see what the ls1 does as well. I think it will just change my AFR, hopefully for the better. I also hope it will bring my hp and tq peaks closer. As well as a higher powerband. I think the hp may be the same, and the tq may lower alittle. Here is to wishfull thinking!

Keep us posted on the intake results and after the tune. I'm really excited to see how it tunrs out since we had a similar setup.

Turbo8, are you running a stock 5.3, i mean besides heads and cam, no forged pistons or anything? that much psi would scare the hell out of me on stock pistons

Sorry for the delay. My wife had missplaced the camera in the diaper bag! I couldn't find it for the life of me. I was then trying to scan it and upload it, but I could not upload a tif file. I found it now, here it goes.

Well the truck is running! But not very good. I hooked everything up and my wideband is showing an extream lean condition. the injectors are not leaking, motor runs smooth untill I give it gas. It sound like a miss. I think I missed something. My vacume is normal! Is it possible to mix up the fuel lines, they both look the same?I have to look at it tomarrow. Wish me luck!

did you check all your wiring and your coil packs. i had the main coil pack harness disconnected once and the truck fired up idles ok but when i gave it gas it would respond so much lol. i would say check all your wiring first ro everything. do you have a way to check your fuel pressure also?

I think you are right! I think I may have something backwards. Fuel lines are right, I may have mix up the wireing. May be the injector conections. I am trying to find time to play with it. But the wife and kid are sick so I have to pitch in alot of time there. Thanks for the info.

Ok! It was a loose injector wire. I Think I lost quite a bit of low end torque, I just drove it around the block. Just alittle boost, it did not feel as stong. I hope as I drive it around alittle more it will get better. I hope it just feels slower but is much faster, like when the I first test drove the 93 camero (auto/lt1). I didn't think it felt fast but it was alot faster than my mustang (5speed,5.0,bolt on's and gears) at the time. That camero kicked my *** everytime, I didn't understand it, it didn't feal that fast. Anyway, I hope it gets better, or looks better on the dyno and track!

Have you done any tuning yet?? I would think your Ltrims are way off and Im sure your VE, PE, and timing tables would need some work. That intake is going to get air to the cylinders very differently than the ugly truck manifold. Get that thing tuned and on the dyno!! It would be very easy for me to swap manifolds while my engine is still on the stand!!
Did you use the truck rails and injectors? Did you cut the water pump neck and the alt bracket?

Like Greentahoe said, your air deliver could have changed dramatically so I wouldnt go mashing on it till you can datalog and ensure you are safe.
