Default <TECH ONLY> The Bolt On Guide Thread should we Sticky this?

I started putting this together in hopes of limiting threads with the same questions that we see here, over and over, on a daily basis. At the same time helping each other in avoiding spending money unnecessarily, like many of us have. These are a list of bolt ons that most of us started using which provided gains in horse power. If you have a bolt on that is not listed here, please add it along with proof of said gains, whether through personal dyno sheets or theads that corroberate your statement. Lets start:

Long Tube Headers(18-25RWHP):
Dynatech/SuperMaxx
ASM
Thorley
Pacesetter
Hooker-2wd ONLY
Stainless Works

There are many MFG’s of Long Tube headers for the 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 engines. The biggest differences between all are material and cost. HP differences, if any, are minimal, meaning you can’t go wrong with either. Most LT headers are now available with catted and non-catted(off-road) y-pipes, making them a true bolt on. While shorty headers are also available, they are not popular due to their cost rivaling that of LT headers and producing minimal performance gains.

Underdrive Pulley(7-10RWHP):
ASP

Underdrive pulleys produce power by reducing drag on the engines rotating assembly. Underdrive pulleys are available with alternator overdrive pulley to aid the vehicles electrical system

Cold Air Intake(5+RWHP):
K&N
AIRAID
Volant
VaraRam
Granatelli (NOT MAF)
Etc. many out there

Cold air intake system increase power by smoothing air path to intake manifold and a more open design that allows for more air flow and often cooler air flow.

Ported Throttle Body(5-12RWHP):
Get stock throttle body ported and polished

Ported/polished throttle bodies also aid in the smoothing and increasing of air flow.

Electric Fans(6-12RWHP):
OEM ‘05+ Fans
Flex-A-Lite
Therma Cool
Used/new LS1 Fans

Electric cooling fans increase hp by removing the extra drag of a fan clutch equipped vehicle.

Roller Rockers:
Yella Terra Ultra-Lights 1.7 Ratio(5RWHP)
Crane Gold 1.8 Ratio(15-23RWHP)

Roller rockers are a highly debated topic. Recent dyno testing of the Yella Terra ultra light 1.7 roller rocker arms have shown a 5 horse power increase. The Crane Gold 1.8 rockers have shown increases in hp of as much as 20+. It is VERY important to note that these rockers are NOT recommended to be used in addition to higher lift camshafts due to their ramp rates. This warning comes from MFG itself! Outside of these 2 roller rockers, gains have not been proven nor documented. If you have proof otherwise, please provide it and this post will be adjusted accordingly.

Custom Tuned PCM(10-30RWHP):
HPTuners
LS1 Edit
Nelson
Etc.

A custom tuned pcm will optimize engine parameters for your specific application resulting in noticeable gains across the entire RPM band. Due to all variables ranging from which engine you have(4.8, 5.3, 6.0) and what enhancements have been added, gains will vary and may even exceed the above mentioned 30RWHP.

Cut-out(7-10RWHP):
QTP
Hooker
Etc.

An exhaust cut out, whether electric or manual, will provide a open/free flowing exhaust system. This will also result in power increase when racing, unless you don’t mind the red and blue lights in your rear view mirror!
