Default LS1 fans installed with dyno results

Well, it's a pretty straight foward job. Used a Haydon mounting kit, Haydon adj fan controller and LS1 fans from a 2000 Z28 with 7000 miles on it. The LS1 fans fit up just right to the radiator.

Before results on the dyno were about 259rwhp and after was 265rhwp. So it gained about 6hp/6tq across the entire graph. Should see some track results tonight.

Does the Haydon mounting kit include wiring and relays, or are there actual mounts for the fans?

I used these kits

Haydon Part# 77528- This has the adj control, relay, fuse and wires.

Haydon Part# 77008- This is just a simple set of four clips that mount the fans to the radiator.

I also bought two GM weather pack connectors to run to the fans which were part# 12101917 from GM.

I should get some pictures up, it should really look like a factory job once I get the conveluted tubing over some of the wires.

Make sure you put some foam between where the top of the fan shroud touches the back of the radiator or you might end up with a bent cooling tube like me.

Were you pleased with the dyno numbers? Seems a little low doesn't it? I thought 10+ hp/tq for sure. Guess you can't believe all the numbers a product claims.

Six horsepower from removing a clutch fan is great.I have electric fans and a 6hp gain sounds about right. The best thing about removing the fan is the improvement in engine response.

Well, it doesn't sound like much but, it's all the little things that start adding up.

It's sweet having a dyno ***** in the truck section.

Now if I can only get a scanner sometime soon to post these graphs!

I got the Haydon parts from Carquest.

Hope to bust a 15.0 tonight at the track.
