Default 2nd gen ram LS swap

Anyone ever finished one? i've seen tons of threads on other forums of people talking about doing it but never any finished results other than the first gen "ramaro", I've got an 01 ram RCSB with a blown 5.2/auto and I'm thinking about swapping in a 6.0/4l80e combo from a silverado. Only thing i'm not to sure on is making the motor mounts. I can handle the wiring, fuel system and etc, just looking to see if anyone has done it so i can get some ideas on motor mounts. I would put a 5.2 back in but there isn't too much aftermarket performance parts available for it to make decent power from what i've found for it.

Motor mounts shouldnt be too hard to tackle if you can handle the wiring and fuel.

Alex on here has done the swap into an older dodge dakota, thing hauls ***, he's actually looking to sell it. Only $6500. I could set you up with his number. He could also offer some advice on motor mounts I'm sure.

Thats the only thing I don't have experience with is the actual welding/fabrication. I can work out the wiring and fuel side of things. That pretty much covers all the bases that i can think of off the top of my head.

Hate to break it to you. But if you can't weld or fabricate, a motor swap will be way too difficult. Everything will need to be modified. Motor mounts, exhaust, trans mounts, etc.

I can weld just don't have very much experience. This is gonna be more of a learning experience, I'm probably going to have a shop weld up the mounts. I have a friend that works at a fab shop so he can get me a decent price on it. Still gonna be a bit just trying to get it all figured out. In the mean time i'm working on my welding skills lol

A flight to MA and buying a 10 second Dakota sounds cheaper

If you do decide to take on this project, be sure to keep us updated!

Definitely could be cheaper haha but i actually bought this truck back recently, it was one of my first ones and found it for sale for $600 with a blown motor. Sold the trans and now I'm only into it for $430! anyone know of anyway to make decent power with a 5.2? didn't think so haha I'm also unsure if i would want to try to make the factory gauges work with the LS if that could even be done or just build a cluster myself.

Yeah, I kinda like the idea of running an aftermarket cluster anyways. It will all come in time though, I had thought about cummins swapping it but thats too expected nowadays...everyone does it lol i want to be different.
