Bringing back an old thread.... I got a set of these for my 05 4.8 2wd. The #4 cylinder spark plug wire won't even go on the spark plug, because the primary hits to boot. I tried taking off the metal heat shield (with plans on putting the DEI stuff on it) and it still won't go on. Anyone else have this problem?

That's a good point! I never thought of that.

Thank you for your assistance. I will contact the seller immediately about the alcohol policy at their company!

Mine have almost 5 years and are still great , you cannot beat them for the price , even if you have to tweak them , which I have not , I've even had the y pipe off about 10 times over the years for trans and exhaust changes . Don't be afraid to mod or tweak them or improve them for your application .

I still would love to have a set of big dollar 1 7/8 pipes but it's not in the budget right now

Same here Tim. Mine fit great.

But if not...Much easier to bang on a set of $300 headers, than a high dollar set, lol...

rel3rd...

Can you give any tips/tricks to getting the #7 plug boot over and on to the plug? I for the life of me cant get my hand in there well enough to snap it back on. its driving me insane!

EDIT: Never mind man. These aftermarket I have are a PITA. Used a factory wire instead and it went on easy as pie.

i know it's been forever, but just in case anybody cares...
i was off in the woods this afternoon & decided to hop over a log. as i'm rolling over it, of course i hear a snap, thump, and then my exhaust got real loud! i thought i surely broke a flange or primary or something.

got out & checked... all it was was the y-pipe joint where it crosses under the transmission came apart. in my garage tonight, i had to loosen the collector flanges to get enough play to put the pipes back together. this is the first time in 5.5yrs those nuts've been touched. i popped a dab of PB blast on them & had ZERO issues! they loosened right up and (even more miraculously) tightened back down without breaking.

hopefully all y'all's've held up that good!
