Default 408 DD build Questions

Hello all I picked up an 05 lq4 long block last weekend. Upon tear down found #5 piston was burnt up, and there is light damage/wear to 3 of the mains on the crank. So right off the top it needs a bore(which i planned on already) and a at least a polishing on the crank. I am planning on spraying it up to a 250 shot, so I already have forged rods and pistons planned into my budget. My question is wether or not I should spend the extra money for a 408 stroker kit or to keep it a 370. I have searched the forums for a while looking for info, but haven't come up with much. I have read the 4.00 inch stroke pulls the piston out of the cylinder too much, and I need this engine to be reliable as this is currently my only 4-wheeled vehicle. Any info will be greatly appreciated, and I apologize if this has been covered b4. Thanks-Sam

Depends if you want it to be a race car or not...if so, then do the 408, if not, the 370 will make plenty of sauce, just need to spin it a bit higher.

I'm leaning towards using the stock crank, I understand they are good upto 1000 horse? I'm not really planning on revving past 6 or 65, just for the sake of the longevity of the engine.
