Default 4L60E... no forward gears. Freshly rebuilt.

This is in my father's 67' C10. Transmission is from a 99' T/A, was rebuilt by a reputable builder in the area. It was installed in the truck, but wasn't run right away. The builder is having some major health issues and unable to help. He did however suggest that the assembly grease he uses may have dried up in the valve body. Does that sound reasonable? It has reverse and park. No trouble codes currently.

let it warm up and see if the grease will melt down. I doubt that's it, but it's worth a shot.

Never has had any forward gears, fluid level is perfect. Has been up to operating temp several times lately with the same results every time.

Is it possible that the converter wasn't seated in the pump? Also, that's an LS-spec trans (300mm converter, etc) so what kind of engine is in the C10?

It has an LS1 out of a 2000 Z28 in front of it. Converter was seated properly. Wish I knew more about how these transmissions work to properly diagnose what is going on inside of it.
