These turbos can be had for relatively cheap and can still make power. Looking at the size, if 1 were mounted at the back, STS-style, there would be VERY LITTLE if any lag. It isn't the best for a very high power set-up, but I am more interested in low RPM power with very quick throttle response with as little loss of fuel economy as possible.
My truck made 255rwhp in 2nd gear through the stock intake. It seems like 5-6psi could get close to 350rwhp. That is more than enough for this truck. I am not looking to break anything.
I don't want to change the cam, converter, or 3.23 gears. Simply adding a small turbo for very mild boost seems like the best way to do everything I want.

I found this posted on turbobuicks.com
2.75" = 60.85mm
I did some digging. In "The Source",for May/June 1994, there's a turbo comparison chart. The stock turbo for 86/87 was a Garrett TBO348. It had the .63 A/F, a 2.75" comp wheel, 1.950" inducer, and a 59mm turb wheel with 18mm blades. The GNX had a TBO372, with a ceramic turbine. The A/R was .82. The other dimensions were the same as the GN turbo, except the GNX had a slightly larger wastegate. Now, if I could just find a turbo map!

Ive got one sitting here in my lap from what I believe is a 87 Grand National. It is a Garrett as says A/R .60 on the intake housing, underneath that is says M10.
On the exhaust housing it says A/R.63 and underneath that M3.

you will definately want more turbo than that! honestly.....i built a turbo system for a friends 4.8 using the mp70 at 13psi....another friend has a C5 vette with 2 stock GN turbos out back at 12psi lo boost! spend the cash initially on the mp70 or the mp76 and let it ride......
