way to expensive it the PN i got quotes $228 a shock for the rear shocks on my truck with no autoride or anything

 

the number I got from the dealer (which I am not sure is accurate..the guy sounded like an idiot) referenced on gmpartsdirect gave me 37.50 a shock. Again, not sure if that is the front or rear or what quality. I am under the impression the z71 package came with upgraded shocks?

I see a ton of them on ebay, but again, no part numbers or any way to reference what grade. I sent you a pm with my VIN TorqueWrence, Thanks for the help.

I am looking at the Monroe Reflex shock. People say they ride great and are not expensive at all.

 

I don't know about monroe I haven't heard much good about them (other than they are cheap.) I got some KYB momomax shocks for my truck at about $200 for the set and I am very happy with them. The Bilstein HD shocks are also rated to be excellent but I think the monomax's are actually a little better made shock and cost a little less. Just an opinion based on a few days worth of research I did before buying my new shocks.

 

The Monroe Reflex is the direct replacement for the ol Monroe Sensatrack. They are far from cheap! Unless you find $75.00 each cheap. They have performed weel on my truck and I'll probably buy nothing else. The KYB shocks are a good shock, I currently have KYB Monomax shocks on my 2005 Ex Cab GMC and they feel just about the same as the Monroe's.

 

i sell monroe shocks at work and i dont think i'd put them on IF 1)you have a lift 2)do any hard off roading, you might want to check out some 5000ranchos, about 55 bucks a piece vs the reflex for 45

 

Bilsteins is the way to go. I just ordered some ProComps because I dont plan on keeping my truck that much longer. If I was going to keep it I would put Bilsteins on it hands down.

 

I USED KYB MONOMAX'S ALOT!!!! THEY REALLY ARE GREAT SHOCKS.... BUT I BELIEVE THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL BE HAPPY IS TO RIDE IN A FEW VEHICLES WITH DIFFERENT SHOCKS... I KNOW I HAD TO TO FIND OUT WHAT I LIKED.... ALSO THEY KYB'S HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY

 

I have the Bilsteins HD's on the Camaro - AWESOME! My truck is stock suspension and will stay that way so something ordinary is fine. No heavy off-roading or anything out of the norm. I just want good ride.
