Thumbs up Yank 2600 Impressions

After finally getting the problem fixed (loose return line), I got to baby it around town for about 200 miles or so yesterday. Last night I got on it from a stop and it's a smoke show! Seems to flash about 2800 from a dead stop and from about 5-10mph it jumps to 2600 and flys from there. Driving around town is a little bit annoying because it stays at 1800-2000rpms from like 15-37mph at lock-up under part throttle. Used to stay about 1500-1600. Uses more gas as well. After tq converter lock-up @ 37mph, it holds better than the old stock one and drives completely like stock. If I give it half-throttle at say 45 or so, it actually feels alot faster and more responsive at all speeds. I think it might be because of the noticable weight difference over the stocker. Once I get the FAST 90/90 setup on and get another retune, I'm gonna get the converter to lock-up under part throttle at about 30-32 instead of 37.

Overall, I love it! It definitely woke my truck up and it actually feels like a 383 now instead of a pumped up 5.3 as far as daily driving. I have to say, if I was to do it all over again, I would probably get a Yank 3000. I know everybody told me and I did call to see if I could get it changed but it had already been shipped out. I do really like the 2600 though. Wish I would have gotten it on the old cammed 5.3.

IVe been playin with the Lockup on my TT3000 and 38 seems to be perfect for mine... any lower and its goin to unlock if you give it just a touch of gas..

And mine stays around 1700rpms in town.. you just have to drive it really easy.
But iv i were to do it again i would prob go with the 3000... i love it even though it does get annoying in town like you said... but my mileage only dropped about 1mpg in town which aint bad cause i dont drive in town all day.

What gears do you have? I have 3.42s... that might be a big difference when your playin with different lock up speeds.
