Default WTB: 7 wire factory trailer plug and harness.

Looking for a factory trailer towing harness and plug for the back of the truck. The 7-round plug (big) and harness that plugs in under the bed. Any of you guys that took your hitch and stuff off got one laying around, let me know. If you have the metal plate it mounts in, that would be great too. Thanks!

I probably have 2-3 of them on my parts trucks.

The harness runs all the way up to the fuse box and the plate is welded to the factory hitch.

If you need just the plug itself, there available separately.

Did you ever get that factory E-Fan Harness?

He was thinking it plugged in under the bed, like the 03+ do I believe. I noticed mine runs all the way to the front like you mentioned.

It's all part of the harness that runs along the frame rail up to the Fuse box under the hood.

It does not unplug separately under the bed.

I have a 00 Silverado, 05 Silverado, 06 Sierra and I just verified. There is a separate plug coming out of the same harness that plugs into the junction box for the tail lights. But It's the whole harness.

Now If his is like my 00, you can get a plug and a section of wiring and wire it to the OEM Harness under the bed. Mine was not wired for a plug from the factory. It had a pigtail that you had to pull down from the frame and splice into. They sale the plug separate but you need the connector that plugs into the main plug.

Just found Hopkins 41145. It's a 7 Blade Chevy GMC Vehicle Wiring Kit for 99-02 Chevy GMC trucks. Comes with a mounting bracket too!

If you look appropriately on Ebay you can find it for Less than $15 dollars with free shipping!

Looks like you guys are right. So I guess I'll just buy a 7 wire plug and put it on where my 6 round is now. Hopefully the brake wire and hot wire are just taped off in side the pigtail.

That I'm not 100% on that. But out of curiosity I ordered one of the plug kits any way. For less than $13 I Figured what the hell Lets try it out. Should have some instructions too.

Apparently the Body Shop Removed mine for the repaint. So I rigged 1 up at the last minute from my buddies wrecked FORD to tow a trailer one day.
