I know this is not a truck, but I am looking for any
1985 1986 or 1987 olds cutlass 442 car that may be wrecked or parting out.
if anyone knows of where one or some may be, or a junk yard around your area that may have one. please let me know. thanks

Ha... I have 2 Broken 8.5 axle assemblies. One I broke the carrier caps out of, the other the right axle tube has pulled forward and the housing is cracked. I suggest a 9" Ford but I know some guys wanna run all GM stuff but this was the only way to cure my rear end issues running BIG POWER and a transbrake. Good luck with your search though Im sure you know this but GN's had the same rear end too.

Yes, it's old....
Use a Mustang 8.8 from any 79-04. Parts are plenty and they're stronger. And they bolt right in. Literally. Brake lines and everything. Putting a 95 disc brake 3.73 in my neighbor's 82 Cutlass Cruiser. Use a spherical bearing up top and polyurethane lowers. Granted, were using a dual bolt pattern wheel but otherwise just redrill the axles for the GM bolt pattern.
