Bill, your vids look really good, thanks for posting. Although the camera angle doesn't show it, I almost had that pro street Chevy Luv.

Dewey, should I not build boost at the line? I am a newb and need all the tips I can get.
I think Dewey was saying you were looking good there with the hard launch You have to try different launch techniques till you find what works best for you and your truck.
See you next month!

Yeah, try a few different things. ALot of people think launching the radix off idle or just a tad of throttle is the best. I personally get it up to about 1800rpm and then floor at the last yellow. I haven't had much luck with high rpm/boost launches. However that was on my last converter/trans combo and i got a lot of slip. It really depends on a lot of things (setups) but I'd vote against high rpm launches with the radix. Nevertheless, my point is, I LOVE that sound, and then a hard launch to boot and you had the sound going before launch, you just don't see (hear) that done much! (the motion sick comment was towards the camera)

I appreciate the info Dewey. I had fun with the high RPM launches even if the times didn't reflect it. My helmet bounced off the headrest when I launched next to the GTO. I am not consistant enough yet to determine what is working best for me, I will try some low load launches back to back next time.
I will have a few more parts installed before the next track day, I would like to break into 12s with the truck eventually. Bill's video crew looks to be more practiced than mine, LOL.

I think 12's are in your future Henry. There is quite a bit more in your setup.

I wish you had too, you know you would have done well. It really sucks but at least you made it home with the truck. What's the prognosis on the trans/converter?

Not good... $2k worth of damage. Overdrive planetaries, clutches, and sprag took out most of the other trans parts.

I am going to buy the PI converter for another $600 and have them put it back together.

It has been expensive lately to keep my cars on the road. lol

I ended up buying a long block because it came with a 3 year/100k mile warranty. Cost $2600 for the entire short block plus installation.
