Default Might need 4.8/5.3 block only

Hey guys, I will be pulling my LS1 due to some bad mojo. If the block is not rebuildable I may be looking for a 4.8/5.3 bare block with mains to punch out and swap my internals into.

Anyone within 100 miles of Antioch/Brentwood/Oakley have one that is cluttering up their garage/barn/living room that I can pick up for cheap?

Sorry to hear that Colby.
You're going to go for an iron block? I've seen the occasional LS1 block in the 4-6 hundred range. I'll keep my eyes open around here for ya!

Yeah, I've seen the LS1 go for a couple hundred more than a 4.8/5.3. And with nearly 6k lbs of bus to move, that extra 80 lbs of block ain't going to hurt me all that much. If I get that pressed I'll remove the hitch & spare! lol

I saw that one of the guys (JJZ28, I believe) had a clean 5.3 block with mains for $150, but I was hoping to find one that I could pick up as opposed to ship.

Good Colby. Do you think you'll make it to the truck meet in Sac next month?

Highly unlikely. I won't take it in until the GTO turbo piping is redone, and that will probably take the better part of two weeks by the time that the materials are ordered, fabricated and retuned.
