Default Whoring my AR-15, and its replacement

I built this in spring, and parted it out this fall to buy my house... another will need to be built sooner or later... but I'll go with a fun chambering instead of the boring .223 this one was.

I traded off the forend to a guy who cut me a deal on this:

FNP-40

Aaaand for good measure, here is my scattergun.

Awesome.
Ive got 6 ARs and have 2 that i always use so im selling the other 4 to buy another turbo kit.
I love the 6.8spc. It has become my favorite AR. It stays in the truck with me and im still waiting on a 300 blackout barrel so i can be sneaky quiet and semiauto.

Thanks! I built it without any of the "proper" tools, and as long as you're careful you can do it without marring up the receiver at all. I honestly enjoyed building it as much as shooting it.

Yeah, I'm taking my time and eventually going to decide between 6.5, 6.8, 300 whisper, and 243/25 wssm.

I use an armorers wrench and 2 peices of 1x1 wood blocks in a vice to assemble uppers. Its very easy and alot of fun.

You hqve quiet a few different calbers to choose from haha.
I think id have to go with the 300BO. Lil more versitile than the others listed. I love my 6.8. But being able to shoot 90gr-240gr bullets interest me alot.

Lots of choices because I haven't properly researched any of them. LOL. the versatility sounds great, but that variety in ammo must make it impossible to keep a zero unless you pick one weight.

Well i meant you have a large selection of bullet weights to choose from. I know most folks use 110-125gr for hunting and heavy ~200gr for subsonic goodness.

For 6.8 your limited to 85,90,95,100,110,115,125,130,,135,140,150, and 160gr bullets. Ive mainly stuck with hornady 115gr OTM and SMK 135gr bullets for deer and hogs with my 6.8spc. And for coyotes and such i use 90gr sierra varminters. Cant get the 150/160gr loads to shoot well, full power or subsonic with the 11 twist barrel.

If i can ever get some more play money saved up im gonna get a 300BO barrel.
Hopefully sooner than later.

All good thoughts. Some day...

The other thing I really think I need some day is an AR-57. And once I get that I'll trade my FNP-40 in for the Five-seveN.
