Took the red dot plunge
#1
I finally broke down and got a Red dot for my AR. It's just a DPMS LR308 with the heavy 18in barrel. For some reason I never really got into the whole red dot craze as I believed that it was either a good scope, iron sights, or nothing at all. However, I can see why people like these things so much. It didn't take long to dial it in, and once dialed in it was just incredible. Now, I don't believe in cheap optics, and I believe in batteries even less so I sprung for a Trijicon RMR reflex. Let me tell you something. 10 shots, 6 seconds, 400 yards, and only one miss. Granted the miss was due to the dumbass behind the rifle.
I still believe in a Quality scope or iron sights for hunting or target work, but I can see the merits for plinking, or 3-gun style shooting.

I got a Aimpoint M2 a few years ago cause it was on sale and i love it.. but its on my 22 AR.
Most my shooting is at night and i need a scope so it never gets taken. but it sure is nice.
