Default Night Vision???

Any recommendations for a night vision scope or adapter for use in hog hunting? Generation III is not in the budget unless one fell off the back of a truck.

Also any thoughts on either a red dot or fixed low power scope with illuminated reticle for use on the Smith 22lr AR?

Talking with some border patrol guys the other night out in the marsh and they had thermal out and letting use look though them, not a bad way to spend 7-8 grand a piece on them, but when the government is paying who cares right?

Thermal was sweet, cuts though fog, smoke,I thought the range was a lot better too,100 yds out and you could tell the difference pretty good.

Im in the Marine Corps, and the NVG's we use are monocular, we also have binocular nvg,s but when you're walking around with a weapon you obviously need an eye open, but the cool thing about the monocular is that you can keep both eyes open and theyre designed to simulate binoculars, and I swear I could see perfectly for about 400 yds. I could see figures mainly but not faces. We also have a thermal laser that attaches to the rifle called a PEQ-15 that creates a thermal laser that you can only see with NVG's so its pretty sick and allows crazy accuracy.

I think you could get some of these NVG's for around 2-3 grand and peq-15's... well dont even count on it. lol

Back to Earth - I'm going to be shooting hogs with subsonic ammo so max range won't be much over 100 yards. Although it's nice to dream.

How do you manage the Q beam if you're hunting solo? And do you use the white light or a red lens?
