I love my .17 HMR!

If anyone happens to come across a used ruger 77/17 or 77/22mag let me know. Im looking for one to use the action out of to build a new plinker and host for my supressor. If savage didnt have such a cheesy mag I'd just buy their tactical threaded barrel 17 but if I cant find a long action ruger rimfire for cheap thats what I'll end up with. Pretty sweet looking gun.

Wierd I love my ruger rotary mags. Only one ive ever had problems out of is the one for my 10/22 that was just dirty after atleast 5-6000 rounds through it over 15ish years. Brake cleaner and some compressed air later it was good to go.

.17 is the same as 9mm to shoot. .223 may be cheaper to reload, but you can't shoot it with out hearing protection like you can a .17, unsupressed. I want a semi auto .22 mag, or a lever action .22 mag next time around. I hear bad things about a semi auto 22 mag. Is there a good one to look for?

If its not on my 223, its on another rifle i have with me.
Ive got a friend with a suppressed 17hmr.. there isnt a whole lot of difference between it unsuppressed and suppressed, but i dont know how the suppressor is designed.

With a quality suppressor I'd say it makes a decent difference, its just not going to be a stealth type cartridge.

Fastrt, you're not going to see semiautos anymore in 22wmr or 17hmr due to the high pressure they operate at, too many extractor problems and feed problems apparently. I like my 17 as a bolt gun anyway, the ammo is too eexpensive for me to burn up in an auto.
I'd really like a suppressed 17 but with a suppressed 22 and my 300blk build its kinda hard to justify it.
