I got to take a buddy of mine shooting this Sunday and a little bit. he has never shot anything over 50 or 100 yards or a rifle that is capable of shooting and a fairly long distance. anyways first shot at the 480 yards he was a little shaky and missed by an inch or so. Might have been because he never shot the rifle or just over whelmed at the distance. anyways the second shot connected and he is now hooked on shooting distance now. we are going to shoot more at 100 to 500 until he gets a better understanding of how it all works then going to move it on out.

that was my first ever 1,000 yard shot. I missed the next one. That day i had 2 13yrold boys hit the target also. was a good day.

I got aggravated with my New 24" AR and got my truck rifle out and took a guess and hit the 550 yard gong first shot.. So i procedded to empty another 29rds into it

 

so the new ar isn't shooting like it should yet?

 

I cant get it under 1.125" at 100.. Ive tried 8 different bullets, 5 diff powders, 4 diff primers, 2 scopes. I dunno what the deal is.
My truck rifle will do 1.25" easy with 75Gr PPU OTM cheap bullets with WC846 pulled powder.

This is a 300RUM. I load a 210gr berger @ 3200FPS with Retumbo pushing it. it has a 30 inch barrel on it.

ive wanted to do a 338 Edge, but just couldnt justify it.
210s @ 3200 is pretty much a laser haha. how many rounds you got thru the barrel?

 

So far 43 with the 210gr load it is not hot it was just dead on. I have put 23 of that load and the others are playing with the 230gr Berger. Still can make my mind up on those but it slings them at 3140 so still stroking and its not a max(hot) load ether. with 100 yard zero i'm dialing in 6.0 mill even. its been dead on each time the trigger is pulled. its is a heavy rifle so recoil is honestly like a 223. Its sweet.
