thats the DPMS slick sided upper.. i have a a few of them..
They are ok. if you have a stove pipe from rotating the gun 45*, you have a problem already.
and you can shoot a 5.56 out of a 223.. but you might start blowing primers, been there and done that.. but once you start wearing the 223 barrel out. 5.56 shoots fine out of it.
Rotating it counter clockwise is much easier and more natural than than rotating it clockwise.

Just a different style.. not everybody needs a dust cover and brass deflector.
they are about 55-70$ for the upper reciever.. not that much cheaper than a regular one.
You have never blown a primer before?

You paid about 250 more than should of look up what the sights cost. I wouldnt worry about it blowing primers at all I put 2k rounds through mine in a weekend. I bought mine in febuary and put atlest 5k rounds through it still shoots the way its suppose to. Depending on location you dont need a dust cover, and im sure your not crawling through mud sand or thowing it around. I use mine for small competition shooting does just as good as any other m16 I used in the military besides the burst fire.

No haha not that I know of. I've not really ever had any misfires... I don't know what brand the ammo is, it's whatever the marine corps is given
