Don't be stupid

As a NY Assemblyman pointed out during the recent debate on NYS' new assault weapons ban:
So, of the 5 total rifle murders last year, even if we assume all 5 were assault rifles, and given that 80% of the guns used in crimes in NYS come from out of state, we are talking about impact 1 murder out of 769?
Sponsor of the bill: Yes.
And we estimate there are around 1 million law-abiding citizens who own assault rifles in this state that will be impacted by this bill?
Sponsor of the bill: Correct.

Whoa whoa whoa, simple math is a little too complex for politics. lol... Nobody wants to hear about people doing good things and following the law in this country. They want hollywood. If it isn't drama-filled and surrounded by controversy, its boring to the average American. This **** in the media sells hard to the masses, and there is really nothing effective we can do about it...
Bill sponsor admitting that one of the penalties was a class A misdemeanor that the police wouldn't pursue...
Bill sponsor saying law abiding citizen's were expected to 'just change the clip' to circumvent the 7 round restriction -- I guess they believe criminals are too stupid to think of this on their own, but since the debate was broadcast over the internet, I guess all the NYS criminals will eventually hear of this 'work around' (there is no smilie suitable for how I feel about this)...
Bill sponsor admitting that the bill would NOT have had any impact on the Webster shootings
Bill sponsor admitting that the bill would NOT have had any impact on the Sandy Hook massacre
on and on and on.
They passed it anyway.

This is my point though, you've got to know, I mean unless you don't have ANY access to ANY news or even f'ing gossip at the local gas station in the morning, you've got to know about the gun battle in politics right now. Firing ANY damn gun with no back stop and wide open to a development down the way is going to be today's news. Shooting a bad guy about to rape and pillage won't be news.
BTW...hell I drink in morning and afternoon hunts. LOL I got the cops called on me a couple months ago for shooting "too much" and when the police showed up I still had a drink in my hands. Cop, "You've been drinking too?!?!" Me, "I am open to take a breathalyzer if you'd like." Cop, "Nevermind."

Shotgun rounds don't travel as far as rifle or many handgun rounds! Still not a briliant idea to be drinking and having guns out but a few beers and a shotgun is still differant then a AK-47 and plenty of alcohol to get arrested for public intoxication.
