Yeah I had known about this for a little while now, just hadn't actually seen the written details about it. I don't blame them one bit really, they have to protect themselves. As far as my personal feelings about it, I have always modded my cars/trucks and have never taken in a vehicle for warranty for anything and I don't "expect" the dealer to cover anything on my truck after I've tinkered with it whether the tune/mods are safe and done correctly or not.

My 2 cents.

If a guy has a aftermarket exhaust, intake, or wheels/ tires and the speedo or radio quits working, fix it and dont void the whole vehicles warranty.

Dealers just need to have common sense before voiding warranties.

I agree with that statement 100%. The only problem is a few of them out there I have heard end up being jerks about a warranty issue of any kind once they get the vehicle in there and see that their is anything done to it at all as far as aftermarket goes.

IMO, if the "sights and sounds" of a vehicle are modified and the engine/electronics are not, then the dealer should honor the warranty of those items not modded. Just because I put a better looking hood on my truck, that's not gonna make the engine overheat.

I'd love to see the look on the faces of the techs if someone took in an Escalade with a duramax in it

We did that to a '95 Vandura. Greatest travel vehicle ever.

They cannot do that. If they try, you need to reference the magnuson-moss act.

I got a friend a work who just bought a band new c6. He bought the extended warranty package as well. About two weeks go by and now the car has a big cam, long tubes, tune.

Talk about throwing away money on the warranty.
