Wideband Wiring Routing Help needed
#1
For those of you running a wideband O2 sensor, how did you route the wires in the cab?
I just purchased a Innovate LC-1 and need to route it in the cab, but there isn't a whole lot of wire to work with. I need to go off of the Y-pipe collector bung, so it's the passenger side of the truck. Standard Cab.
The only two spots I could come up with were the body drain plugs on the bottom of the cab - one in the cab corner, the other under the passenger floorboard. I was going to get a blank grommet and insert the wires through that, but can't seem to find a 1.5" blank grommet, and worry about rust/salt rotting out the floor around the grommet.
So... For those that have a wideband...how'd you route the wires in the truck?

I ran my grounds (straight to battery) through a drivers side firewall grommet behind fusebox at floorboard. I sliced the grommet on the drivers side floorboard between brake and seat; added sensor cable and video cable through it. I filled space around cables with duct seal and put metal insulation tape from top and also to hold cables to floorboard. Four years and no problems, but we keep our ice in the freezer here. Fyi, my WB O2 is on drivers side. You might consider running your sensor cable out firewall and along top of transmission since you need to crossover to passenger side or go out passenger side floorboard pan. Use ties to keep it off hot or moving parts. cheers

Man, I really need to run my W/B.
And, I've wondered the same, but the bulkhead on the left (drvrs) side is where I was told to run it. But mine also has to be mounted, & it will be awhile before I can make custom mounts how I want. The mounts aren't so much a concern as the routing. I wanna try to go thru pre-existing holes not make new ones. And the bulkhead is supposed to be 1 such option.
