One thing I would strongly suggest small changes. Like if you plan on going with bigger injectors for the 408, I would swap the injectors before the engine swap. Then you can just change the injector values to see how that effects the vehicle. I ended up doing all my mods at once, and it was a real pain. Especially because my injectors had been changed so they flowed more. If I had swapped just the injectors first the whole tune would have been easier.

I would open up the files one at a time, and read what they do. If you understand what each one does, it will make more sense when you change something. It is very overwhelming when you first open it, but you will understand it with patients. There is an old saying that says, by the yard it is hard, but by the inch it's a cinch. That applies in this circumstance!! I am no pro tuner, but I feel confident in what I am doing now.

I apreciate the advice. I don't see anything I wasn't planning to stick to. I really plan to compair what justin changes to the factory tune to hopefully get a good idea.

The 408 will be a slow process. It is a very radical engine so justin will be able to get it started and running for me, but from there it will be lots and lots of tweaks! Having 3-4 months to learn I am hoping that I will be fairly confident to do some of the tweaking once he gets it running.
