Default Why dont peeps dig the 1MB pcms?

is the 411 all anyone needs? seems strange people would not be all over the most powerful -fastest computers available,
I don't really know what the potential of twice as much capacity makes possible with a 03 up computer, and I don't even see discussion about it.

in the old days the possibility of what could be done with something like a 7749 for example lead to all kinds of wild custom controlled project vehicles that used it, using all the different things it could do -over what something from just a few yrs earlier could not (an 85 computer really couldn't even be hacked - its data stream speed was sloth like).

A P01 can do everything you need, the P59 can actually be a bottle neck for some. Drive by wire computers can get in the way big time, more prone to REP mode issues with MAF/MAP/Throttle airflow calculation/correlations.

Also the DBW tend to have less resolution compared to many P01 computers when using custom OS upgrades. My opinion is that the 01-02 OS's on the P01 are the best to use on older vehicles.

yes I don't mess with DBW, the express vans and the O4 GTO don't use a TAC -DBW

You can run a p59 with dbc, but yes you loose resolution with certain tuning software manufactures. I have a p59 that’s dbc. I ditched the DBW stuff.

Right, you can but only if the computer has the IAC driver.

Otherwise you are SOL on that particular pcm.

Past that a 512mb computer has the same capability that the 1mb computer does.

earlier posts about the subject said the 411 could only support up to 2 bar boosted systems, im pretty sure peeps have gone over 14.5 psi though, the 2003 systems supposedly handle 3 bar -no problem, as lots of guys souped cars n trucks see more tha 14.5

I see it the other way around most of the time, to me anyway it seems far more common to see a P01 computer with 3 bar options and P59 with only 2 bar. Though you do get lucky sometimes and they have 3 bar on the van OS's.

It's why the 00-02 computer are so popular, it's drive by cable and nearly all the silverado 1500 computers support 3 bar with RTT.

This is with HP tuners though.
