whats the best shift points to use?

Default whats the best shift points to use?

i have an 06 crewcab and have a nelson pcm.with the pcm i had,the shiftpoints were set at damn near 6000rpm.well with the retune i have now my shift points are now at around 5700rpm.all i had changed in the tune was my tire size and 80% TM removed instead of the 50% i originally had.which shiftpoints would be better?

For WOT? It would be between 200 - 500 rpms past peak power.

On a stock cam/intake, I'd say 6000-6200

A dyno session would tell you best. That way you can see where power falls off.

i just had allen change mine to 5900 at wot for 1st and 5600 for 2nd..with a redline of 6300

At the track playin with it i got the best times with my shiftpoints at 6100rpms for 1-2 and 2-3.
Any higher and times dropped a little same goin lower.At least on mine anyway.

Mine are set at 6K for 1-2 & 2-3 shifts. Been loggin' & tuning recently, and found the better SOP performance there... at least, that's what works for my truck.
