That's a Canooter valve silly.

 

It is a vacume solinoid. It could be for a few systems on the truck. Possibly 4wd, evap system, where was it mounted?

 

Its got eaton on it and i think it come off a GTP with the SC 3.8L.
Cant find the PN on the net anywhere.

Wanted to try and use it for a switchable vac/boost source..
Just wanted to know what it come off of and what it was used for really.

 

I would think it should work fine.

One way I have seen them used is to keep vacume in the 4wd system so that the front hubs stay disengaged. I am not sure what psi they are good up to so that is what might not allow it to do what you want.

Why do you want a switched boost/vacume sorce? What are you trying to accomplish?

 

Are you certain it doesn't say #90466214?

90466214 looks identical to your part and it is a vaccum switch used to activate the secondary air injection and/or the valve in the intake manifold of cadillac cateras, cts and saturns. It switches it from long runner to a short runner intake path.

 

This lil dodad has a "vent" from the port on the bottom to a hole in the top so it can breath..
The port on the side is blocked.
Thats deenergized.

Gonna energize it and see what changes.
