It's been stated that completely removing the MAF without relocating the IAT sensor is bad....Why ??? What exactly will it do to the tune if I DO NOT have the MAF/IAT plugged in for a short time until I can get an early f-body IAT sensor and wire it in correctly ??

Open circuit on the IAT will make the PCM think its like -49F outside. And in the wonderful cool temperatures the nation is seeing lately, you'd probably be shooting fireballs out the back from all the extra fuel its dumping.

Also something to think about, i gutted my MAF sensor of its MAF components, ground out the 3 MAF pins, leaving a bored out 85mm housing with just the IAT there. (And unless you pull the filter, it looks perfectly stock, great for those harder visual inspections )

Especially with LTFT's disabled. The vehicle tries to calculate intake fuel/air charge based on IAT's. Hotter air holds less fuel, colder air holds more. And to maintain the same air fuel ratio, more fuel is injected at colder temperatures. Heh i experience this every winter, my fuel economy drops by about 2-3mpg just from temperature.

Anyways, you can always try it. But i bet you'd see some pretty low numbers on a wideband.
