I have an old dell e6500 that works great

I have used an Asus EEEPC also (great battery life)

Remember the caveat - don't use a 120VAC inverter you WILL fry your V2

If it will boot up, stay on and not crash, then it will most likely work fine for tuning, lol. A good battery, is probable the most help full thing! lol A $50 used laptop with a $50 new battery is probable the best bang for the buck for a tuning laptop.

I use Asus netbooks. Can't argue with the battery life....I can tune constantly for 10 hours with it.

Its only for tuning. That's it. I will take all your considerations in more likely get a refurbished or used lab top with a new battery.
