Default Weird issue in the tranny only at idle shifting from reverse to drive or drive to rev

Anyone experience an issue where the motor will surge around 1200 RPM then drop sudenly to about 250RPM and sometimes die?!? This only happens when moving the gear selector to either reverse or drive, from either reverse or drive!! From park or neutral it gos into gear just fine. It basically surges high in between the gear grab. So when the trans has that brief moment where it kind of goes into nuetral to change to either the forward or reverse gear, it wil surge up... then drop massively once it actually catches the gear thats been selected. Also noticing that the engine will not idle at the desired idle speed while its in a gear period... about 100RPM or so under the speed. I used the Bidi controls to see if its a spark issue and i had to bring the advance to 40* in order to get the idle back up to where it used to be while in gear. Any ideas greatly appreciated...wondering if this is mechanical and not in the tune.

Thanks,
Nick

Make your idle air "park, neutral" more like your idle air "gear".

Thanks for the response...i did some general maintenance before messing with the tune and that seemed to be the culprit... K&N cleanup and plugs. All seems well now...no spikes no dips
