WAIT 4 FOR ME TUNe?????

Trying to get anything from Wheatley is a pain. I'm very happy with his tuning but if you're going to be doing any significant mods, go with a local tuner so any problems can be taken care of immediately. I think he is very busy. This is just the nature of mail order tuning I think. I've heard Nelson is also pretty hard to get a hold of. That being said, if you don't have anyone local or you just want a one time tune for a stock engine I'd go with Charlie hands down. He's a very nice guy.

I will say that wheatley has offered many times on this thread to help individuals. This is a professional tuner offering HIS time to help some1 with their problems. In my book it says a lot. Sure he is busy, but even at a few days damn thats free help.
And on another note, I like blackbear performance, and he is VERY knowledgable on the subject.

i've had great luck w/ Jesse(w4me). never had any problems w/him. great customer service, super nice guy. just call him, don't try e mailing. every tuner has had some complaints, including nelson and wheatley. for $160 you can't find any better. if you don't mind paying up to $400 for a mail order tune all the tuners talked about have good reps. go to a local dyno and make a couple runs. get a copy of the a/f tables and send it to jesse. he will adjust tune according. basically a dyno tune for $220. cheaper than most mail orders.

What do you guys think about there tunes? I am going to get a custom tune, but just do not know who to use. I want one more for mileage and towing, but still would like to have extra power on demand. A buddy got one from wheatley and is happy wth it, but his check engne light came on and he can't get hardly any help from wheatley. I would like to order one today, so any quick responses would be appreciated. My truck is a CC Z-71, 5.3,CAI, Exhaust, 20's w/33 terra grapplers. Thanks for your help
where are you located at??? this will give you a better response to what tuner to use.

I was in no way trying to put down Wheatley. I have heard some great things about his tunes. Just simply stating a small issue. I don't like to communicate by e-mail unless it is the only means available. Everytime that I did call Wheatley's I never got a answer, except for once. This probably because he stays swamped with business and could be understandable, but I am a big fan of speaking one on one, not communicating by e-mail. With that said, I went ahead and ordered a W4ME tune. Everytime I have called them I have either spoken to Jesse or his wife. That means alot t me knowing I will be able to speak to someone when I call if I have an issue. I am located in Beaumont, Tx about 90 miles east of Houston.

That close to Charlie you could have driven over to see him in person. If you ever meet him in person you will realize how busy he really is, he is always moving and tuning and answering phones and emails. I have had times where it is hard to get in touch with him, but he always comes thru, just plan ahead and let him know before hand on any updates being needed so he can put you in line with the rest of the people.
