Default W4M Problem

A while back i got a Wait4Me tune. I can't complain about the tune but there is one problem. I went over to the chevy dealership to have one of my freind take care of the crank code. He did the realearn but it didn't work, he said there was a problem with the way the tuning was done. Has anyone else encountered this?

the guy probably doesn't know what in the hell he's doing. A crank relearn has nothing to do with a tune. If you know anybody that has EFI Live, they can do one for you.

EDIT- Just to explain, when I say it has nothing to do with the tune. I mean that it won't affect a tune any nor does it matter if the tune is locked or anything of the sort.

well I've done several crank relearns on multiple year trucks and even an F-body using HP Tuners. One time I was at Goshawk23's house and Bondo asked me if I could fix him up, he had a wait4me tune in his 2004, so I said sure... I couldn't get it to take, so I walked over to Randy (litredevil) and grabbed his tech II. Same thing, kept losing communication. I reset set code just to clear it from memory and it never came back on to my knowledge. As previously stated, I've done several successfully and always knew it when it was completed, but this one truck in particular never reacted.

Hey guys. I'm still new here and to tuning but, here's another $0.02 to think about.

I've got a 2004 Avalanche and I've been using HPT (so far so good, things have only gotten better).

The only problem I had with HPT was a communication problem. Always had to take out the radio fuse to flash a tune. While I was doing my MAF re-scaling I was getting inconstant results until I started logging without the radio fuse.

I went and got an after market HD radio and now I've got no more communication problems. (I still shut the radio off to flash a tune but, I don't have to pull the fuse any more.)
