Ok i know that i contacted jesse and he told me that since i was running 87 octane i would not see that much improvement because the trucks are already maxed out. Ok well if i start using 91 octane, and decided to go back will the pcm adjust for that or will i have to get it retuned. thanks.

It depends on if he tunes you for it. There is some to gain from 87 octane, but these trucks are far from being maxed out, even on 87 octane!!! Trucks are the most detuned vehicle from the factory. You can get a 87/91 dual octane tune from Jesse then it will adjust between the two like you are wanting.

Premium is generally .20 cents more costly than regular gas. With our tanks being 26 gal capacity the difference is $5.20 per tank!! Why sweat $5 if it gives you much better performance?

yeah but if its .20 and i am losing gas mileage its not worth it. I would have to make up 2 miles per gallon to be the same price or be better to be more worth it. I also have a 31 gallon tank.

Pemium gas allows more tuning and also has the added benefit of more additives which help keep the engine clean. Performance has a price but if you are able to keep your right foot out of the floor then you might even see 1-2 mpg better.

Just by switching from Mid Grade to premium I got 30 more miles per tank full. so if you figure out in Cents per mile. it is cheaper to run premium than reg or mid. It may cost a little more to fill up, but you will get more miles per tank. and since your running premium now, you may as well tune for it.

Another question, if he does not do a hot tune for 91, will i lose some performance with the dual tune or will it be about the same. thanks?

I cant speak for W4M but a "dual" tune wont be as much of a performance tune than the tune for Premium only.

Well in a sense it wont be as much of a performance tune, but then again it can allow for more timing. You could advance the timing a bit more on the high octane table and then make up for it in the low octane table. The timing will only be decreased in the cells where there is persistant knock.
