Default VE tuning in EFI Live

Right off the bat, I know this has been posted 1000 times before but I have been reading tutorials all weekend and failed to get any accurate logs.

I followed a few different guides that told me which PIDs to select while logging. I cleared the LTFTs, set the MAF fail hz to 0, turned off the code, and went for a drive keeping under WOT and 4400 RPM. The LTFTs I logged were all over the place, like 600 something and 800 something. I got some that looked normal ~50 also. Obviously I could not use the information that I gathered and now I have a few questions.

Is it obvious to anyone what I might be doing wrong? If anyone has a link that I can follow to make more logs, I'll give it a shot. I feel guilty posting this thread because more reading might help me understand, but at the moment I am only getting more confused. The truck I am trying to tune is a 2000 3/4 ton 6L with LT headers, ported TB, and a huge filter & intake tube. Some of the tutorials that I have read seem to be just over my head to understand, any input to help me would be very cool.

Thanks in advance,
Henry

stock will do just fine for initial logging. i like to take out FTC and insert dynamic airflow, if you wanna know what SD calcs are doing. if you don't have enough bandwidth for it, remove MAF entries, as they're ignored in SD anyway.

Without knowing anything more about your issues, it sounds like you need to validate your PIDs. Connect to the truck, then hit Shift+F2. The only time I've had values like what you're seeing was the first time I connected to my truck and only before I had validated PIDs. It would be good practice to do this the first time you connect to any new vehicle.

Thank you guys for the help. I have at least 3 or 4 things that I was doing wrong, and know where to start correcting them. You have both saved a bunch of my time

Thanks! I am going to spend some free time working on my VE over the holiday weekend. I will let you know how it goes.

EFI Live is excelent software, everything works flawless. My only problem is operator error .

Time for an update.
I got my VE tuning figured out today, started working on my table. After modifying the VE table with some logged info, I wanted to try some WOT runs. I could only look at my Innovate WB while WOT, but I think my Injector duty cycle is somewhere in the 90's. Anyway, at 4500 my AFR climbs fast. All the way from the low 11's up to high 15's low 16's. I haven't got past 5000 rpm because I was shutting down, I didn't want to wait and see if I would get any richer.

I added 15% to me VE at 4000 and above, that did not help any. I set my command PE at 10.5 instead of 11. That did not help either. I then tried to add 25% more to me VE past 4000rpm, did not help. I have stock 24lb injectors, do you think they are maxed out? Any other ideas?

over 90% IDC and they are very close to static so you very well might be out of injector...im sure if you post your file someone can have a look and give you advice...even a log file so we can see what your IDC actually is so we can figure out whats going on would be nice

If the tune/ve table is off, that will also cause high duty cycles. What are the mods to the truck?
