Turning off gear display on cluster?

I'd be surprised if you got tape to stick on there more than a few hours. I suppose you've never touched the hot film display after it was turned on? And yes, it's a HFD not an LCD on the 00-02 trucks.

PS: Rather than touch it after turning it on, use a temp gun. You might get burned.
