i did this mod on my 97 because i had no tow haul switch, Flaco setup the drop gear tables and now i will be doing the same on my 99 trans am.. but the guys on tech believe that it's nonsense, i say the a4 guys need all the help they can get since the 4l60e has so many deadspots where the transmission will not downshift from rolls

Sorry for bringing thread back from the dead but i think it's best that other people see the capabilities of having a drop gear shift table available

I'd like to do this with my truck. I already have a rocker switch installed in my truck that isn't being used right now. Is there a pin in the pcm that controls the performance tables? I'd like to wire that rocker switch to that pin if possible.

Can the tow/haul mode be used to change fueling/timing? It would be neat to have it switch between high and low boost tunes. Just a thought. I have a T56 so the tow/haul button is pretty useless right now.

Ive always wondered how people can switch tunes with a switch. Maybe you have to have a custom os that can hold two different tunes..? I don't know

No, not unless you use the dual flash computer thing..

NEW! Dual-Flash PCMs run 2 seperate tunes in one PCM! - LS1TECH

The tow/haul or performance mode can OLNY change trans tables. Such as shift points, shift pressure, down shifts ect.

Too bad it won't work for GenIV trucks. I called on of our sponsors a while back with high hopes and was told it can't be done.
