I already spent big $$ for my mail order tune but have found Synergy Motorsports in my area. They tune using HpTuners on the dyno.
Question 1: How does this tuning compare to the type of tuning i have?
Question 2: Would you/should I toss the mail order tune, and get the dyno tune w/ Synergy?
$500 is a lot of money for me but my truck, and peace of mind is worth much more than that to me. Will i benefit enough to warrent the cost?
Thanks!

The tune will be more precise, spot on for your rig. Mail order only gets so close. Mail order tunes, IMO, fall right in between stock and dyno tune....well, way past the stock tune and up closer to Dyno, I guess. Much better but not the best you could do / get.
I am in the Bay Area myself and plan to go to Synergy for a roller tune. I think there is someone here (pics on their site) that also goes to them for his tunes. Forget the name. Think its a Silver Birch Chevy.
I have the W4ME tune already but plan to go dyno when I can swing it. Maybe we NorCal guys should look into a group deal at Synergy. Runs, tune, whatever.
If you want to squeeze everything out of that truck, then Dyno or a live street tune is it. I think with mailorder something is always left on the table and the amount of power / performance left on the table will vary between trucks tuned and the tuners who did them. Dyno - your there, they're there, the truck is there, numbers are there....everything is right there so no confusion, guessing...etc
This is why I went with the cheaper W4ME tune. I wanted more while I waited and saved for the dyno tune and since I was going that route could not justify the costs of a nelson or westers mailorder when I can get roller tuned locally for that same amount. I understand that Synergy does great work. Trying to talk my buddy with an 05 GTO to come with me and get it tuned.

Yeah, i' having problems with my tune right now (SHIFTING ISSUES/PINGING), and although my tuner is being very helpful, and is sending a new tune, i think i'll just write it off to a loss and start over on the dyno. Besides, it'll be good to see what kind of #'s i can get from this beast!

Wonder if anyone else would be interested in tryign to set up a dyno / tune day with Synergy. Might be some savings in that if we could get a group of people that were interested for sure and talked to Synergy. Maybe actual tune price would stay the same but we could get some extra pulls in or lessen the cost a bit somehow.

I am looking into a n2o kit for my truck and would like the tune to coincide with that install, we shall see what happens.
If I can find out anything i'll PM you and we'll try to get something "rolling" - pun intended.

Rollers are the most accurate way to tune IMHO
