those mods arent worth spending that kind of money IMO. wheatley tuning has a module that he can mail you that plugs into your obd2 port. You drive/log your truck and e-mail him the data and he e-mails an adjusted tune back to you based on the data that you can upload to your truck using that module. With your mods he should be able to nail the tune down in only 3-4 logs.

first time hearing of Wheatley. When I looked him up theres various posts about him. Last one was in 2018. He seems to not have a website I can find.

If you're going to add other performance parts in the future that effect the tune you're going to wash, rinse & repeat your wallet dry paying for remote or mail tunes.

Owning the hardware and learning the tuning process is not for everyone. Those that have made the commitment are much smarter about engine management and better all around hotrodders. It's nice not having to make tuner appointments for a simple idle speed adjustment or to pull a few degrees of timing when you get a shitty tank of fuel. I have 58 tune files since my heads/cam swap going to a "speed density" tune. Most are tiny tweaks to gain power or a smoother idle... if I don't like the changes I'll revert back. 58 X $300 tune fee = $17,400

I don't plan on changing anything soon. Maybe a gear swap to 3.73 or 4.10 with trutrac next year when I can afford it. But that's just adjustments. Unless my engine goes to **** and have to buy a new engine I'm not really doing anything else. So I can see your point on alot of tunes. Just want to get the engine running right with the small mods I got and better drivability. If I get a reasonable amount of extra hp and tq. I'll be even more happy.

man, the pendulum's going full-tilt with options around here.
not having bought or learned the tuning stuff myself, i basically just saved mods all up & did them together every few years so i could just retune once.

and the guys who have core charges for datalogging equipment: you get that back once you return the cables after verifying your tune. never had a problem the 2 or 3 times i went that route over the last decade.

Maybe in the future I might get the stuff to do that. 300 for a street tune isn't that much from a guy that 20 mins away. And retunes are less than half that depending on what's added.
