Default tuned on truck this weekend... threw P0449 code last night

did some mild tuning on the truck friday and saturday... driving to work last night the ses came on so I checked it this morning and it's the P0449. I know it's the evap deal, thought maybe the gas cap since I filled up Saturday night too so I checked that. Cleared code and started searching on here.

I've seen some folks talking about "tuning out" the code. what exactly does that mean? turn the ses code off in hpt?

what would that hurt in the long run? thanks in advance

what will the malfunction itself hurt in the long run? it's just the fuel tank vent isn't it?
